Cat Sims is the hilariously honest woman behind the blog and insta account, Not So Smug Now. (Her posts make me literally laugh out loud; she is definitely worth a follow!) The moment I met Cat I knew that I would love her for life; not only is she always the funniest person in the room, but her genuine love and care of her fellow humans is real (check out her #giftmatch campaign here). I truly love this woman. And yes, for the record, we got drunk in this episode and both had hangovers by 5pm.

You can find Cat’s “Better than McDonalds” Cottage Pie recipe below. (Cat recommends making loads and then freezing it!)

The beautiful earthenware dish discussed in the episode which now currently resides (by complete accident) at my house!! (I win.)
Check out those labels, people!
Yes, I was half a bottle in when I served the peas; it looked like a normal portion at the time . . .

  • Lea & Perrins [Worcestershire sauce]
  • Potatoes
  • Cheese

Instructions

1

Peel and chop potatoes and boil until soft.

2

Drain and mash adding a large lump of butter.

3

Put aside.

Sweat onions and garlic in large saucepan with oil.

Simmer and mix regularly

10

When it’s been simmering for a while and it’s not ‘runny’ pour it into an ovenproof dish.

11

Spread mash potato that you made earlier over the top of the mince and top thoroughly with grated cheese.

12

Put in pre-heated oven at 180 for 20-25 mins.

13

Serve hot.

And, as promised, a pic of Cat with THE Captain Birdseye.
